Hi there, I’m Sophie Dean, a British voice over artist based in Leighton Buzzard in the UK. I record narration for clients all around the world.
With my friendly, trustworthy and fresh neutral British voice, I can elevate your explainer video, internal e-learning course, promotional material and much more.
Your words are important.

Storytelling has always been a big part of my life, in my acting work and my previous nanny jobs. Escaping to another world through books as a child was one of my favourite things to do. One day it was casting spells; the next, slaying the dragon on a quest to the princess.
Storytelling naturally carries itself over into my voiceover work, there is always a story to be told, in any script. Trust me to find the story in your words, have a look at these companies who have trusted me with theirs.
I have always loved performing, from my weekend dance and drama classes as a kid to my studies in dance and musical theatre. After graduating I was thrown into the deep end of the freelancer world. There is nothing like a power cut midway through a theatre in education show to Spanish children to really test your improvisation chops (we entered a ‘deep dark cave’, and the kids all became ‘goblins’).
Even my hobbies are creative. When not voicing, you can find me making cards, doing embroidery, dancing or taking in a show.
Voiceover was originally the ‘side hustle’ to my acting work, until I realised it’s a completely viable and enjoyable career on its own. I have been voicing projects for companies around the world for a few years and couldn’t be happier. I mostly work for corporate clients, doing explainer videos, e-learning and telephone messages. I’m always open to work on new and exciting projects!
Let’s get to know each other better. . .
My blog goes into detail about my background and creative process, but here are some facts about me.
I have bought a new-build house, which I never thought I would do, as I love the charm and character of old houses. I counteract this by buying vintage furniture and mixing it with the new.
Although I have moved away from London where I grew up, it will always hold a special place in my heart. I once had a blog where I did one new thing a week for a year around the city. This included making my own Christmas wrapping paper, finding a bar behind a toilet and going to hot tub cinema!
Second hand clothes shopping is my happy place, the bargains I get from charity shops are some of my most complimented pieces.
My favourite ice cream flavour is honeycomb, thanks for asking, what’s yours?
